I had Barbie toys when I was little but I didn’t play with them that much. I was more likely to play with stuffed animals or plastic horse figures. But every once in a while I did play with the Barbies. Definitely not to the extent that some of my friends did though.
And all the stuff you could buy with them! Clothes galore, houses, cars, accessories, puppies, horses, any and everything you could think of. It seems like it is till like that too. As I peruse the toy stores I see, still, lots and lots of Barbies and their regalia.
Let’s see, you can get the Holiday Collector Doll for all you collectible toy lovers out there, or you can get the Island Princess Rosella Doll, Diamond Castle Princess, Wedding Day Barbie, Holiday Wishes Barbie, Barbie Top Model, Soccer Star Doll, Mariposa Doll, and even a Mermaid Doll and plenty of others including Barbie Wedding Day Groom.
And as far as what you can get to go with your Barbie, there are houses, bathtubs, play sets, Diamond Castle Glimmer Horse, Barbie Laptops, Forever Tawny Horse, Fashion Cards, Barbie Convertible, and plenty more than I have time to name here.
But what keeps Barbie toys so popular over the years? They aren’t very technically advanced, they don’t really do much. You have to actually use your imagination for the most part to play with them. I thought kids didn’t like doing that anymore. Well maybe that is not the case.
I think kids, if given the chance, still love to play with the classic toys like Barbie that have lasted for generations. If you just provide these toys and give them a chance, I think a lot of times they’ll choose a toy like a Barbie rather than a video game, at least some of the time!
So in the midst of all the techie toys, don’t forget the old-time favorites like Barbie. These toys are still going strong and I don’t think they will ever go out of style.
