Kids just love remote control toys, there’s just no getting around that. As a matter of fact, a lot of adults really like them too. I think they are fun! And there are many to choose from, so let’s look at a few of the most popular types.

The first thing you probably think of is a remote control car as I think these have always been very popular with kids and adults too. In the past few years the quality and performance of the radio control cars has improved quite a bit. You can buy the 4-wheel type vehicles that you can play with in the grass and dirt, or you can get the race car styles that you would need to use on a flat surface. Both are loads of fun. You will probably want to look for radio control rather than remote control, as some of the remote control vehicles may actually have a wire going from the controller to the vehicle. These, though, are usually for the very small kids and are just hobby toys, nothing expensive or serious.

Remote or radio control airplanes are another variation of the remote control toys available. Surprisingly, many of these airplanes and helicopters made today are small enough to be flown inside the house. Almost any one can learn to fly these indoor toys as they are very easy to manage, even for people not experienced with radio control toys. Another plus is they are also very affordable. If you find you really enjoy the hobby you can graduate to some of the more expensive planes, and believe me they can get quite expensive. Quite a bit larger too. At that point you may want to join one of your local RC, or radio control, clubs. They are all over the place, and the members get together and fly their planes and helicopters in areas with wide open spaces. If you are unsure of where you might find one of the RC model clubs, just check with your local toy and hobby store that sells radio control planes and they will be able to direct you.

Other types of remote control toys are dogs, dinosaurs, trucks, buses, fire engines, boats, robots, bulldozers, and trains just to name a few. They are all a lot of fun and your kids will really enjoy playing with these toys.
